A local t-shirt company has got behind the relief effort in Haiti and is doing it's own part to help out.
Closet (which you can visit at www.closet.co.nz)
usually specialise in making band t-shirts but the company commissioned
a series of Haiti relief fund t-shirts which will see all the money
being donated to Oxfam's Haitian Relief Fund.
There are four separate designs up for purchase on the
website. They were designed by Kelvin Soh, Simon Oosterdijk, Simon
Chesterman and Sarah Larnach. Larnach was responsible for doing
Ladyhawke's artwork for her debut album and she also recently auctioned
off a piece of art to raise money for the relief effort. She lost her
two nieces and brother-in-law in the Haitian disaster.
Director for Closet, Dave Gibson, also says that other
companies have also got behind the project and are helping out every
way that they can.
“We just had to act, in the face of such hopelessness you’ve got to
at least try. I got on the phone and before I knew it we had Gildan
giving us a huge discount’s on tees for the project, with Embroidery
Works & Courier Post also being incredibly generous and donating
the cost of postage for the first 1000 t-shirts. It was really
encouraging to have people get behind the idea so quickly.”
For those that are interested, you can purchase the tee's for $19.95
from www.closet.co.nz. It's for a good cause, so why wouldn't you?
